The DiGA supports the treatment of tobacco dependence (ICD-10 GM Code F17.2). It is evidence-based, theory-driven, and follows German S3 guidelines and international recommendations for smoking cessation. It uses operant conditioning, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to change smoking beliefs, control theory for goal setting, and PRIME theory for motivation. Behavioral change techniques include increasing motivation, offering rewards, promoting regular use, and fostering a non-smoker identity. A pilot study showed 33% abstinence at four months. Indications: Mental and behavioural disorders due to tobacco: Dependence syndrome (F17.2).
